Any time I try to run a raid, my game crashes in the load screen. This is on a 1060 6gb w/ 16gb ram and I just updated my drivers hoping that it would fix my problems. It has only made them worse. There are constant memory errors after the crash. I cannot run Streets or Reserve.
I'm reposting this because the spoiler in the title didn't work
Why is V unable to use chrome in the Tower ending?
The Tower ending in *Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty* raises several intriguing questions. For instance, how did the FIA manage to disable the Relic when even Arasaka couldn't? Why has V's motor cortex completely lost the ability to detect implant signals? Despite knowing many secrets of the New United States, why is V released after two years of free treatment? Additionally, Reed, who was officially demoted and erased from public records, invites V to join the FIA.
In this analysis, I will examine *Phantom Liberty* from various angles—Relic, Myers, and Mr. Blue Eyes. I will also propose the possibility that V, as an FIA agent, regains combat abilities and continues to live as a mercenary in a temporary state of freedom similar to Songbird's.
# The Relic’s Impact
The Relic isn't merely a chip for memory storage—it also has the ability to manipulate mRNA and rewire the user's neurons, as implied in the story. Furthermore, it possesses high computational power. Even before significant neural replacement occurs, Johnny Silverhand appears as more than a memory trace, behaving like a fully realized human. This suggests that the Relic uses its computational abilities to simulate Johnny's neural activity.
Interestingly, as the Relic's takeover progresses, Johnny becomes more empathetic and gentle—traits more aligned with V's personality. This change may be due to Johnny's thought processes being increasingly conducted within V's brain rather than the Relic itself.
# Neural Reconstruction and V’s Fate
In the Devil and Sun endings, V's death is tied to the neural reconstruction caused by the Relic. Specifically, the Devil ending implies that Johnny-related neurons are excised, and processors compensate for their loss to maintain V's vital functions. However, this comes at the cost of motor and cognitive abilities, eventually leading to V's demise.
In contrast, the Tower ending suggests that V recovered after two years of coma following the removal of Johnny's memories. Unlike the Devil ending, V shows no significant decline in motor or cognitive abilities. Surprisingly, despite being comatose for two years, V is able to walk and move actively. However, the body has changed to a state where combat implants cannot be used. Reed's remarks confirm that V's installed chrome has ceased to function.
This could be because only the combat functionalities (e.g., double jump) of V's chrome have been disabled, while life-supporting features remain active. Particularly for corporate-lifestyle players, chrome malfunction doesn't lead to death, as shown in the game. Similarly, Takemura is depicted as having lost the functionality of his combat implants without dying.
# The Role of Nanotechnology
The story attributes V's postoperative disabilities to a lack of nanotechnology for regeneration. However, could Johnny's neuron removal and reconstruction be achieved without nanotechnology? Alt’s statements during the Sun and Temperance endings suggest that reconstructing V's neurons is highly complex. It's possible that the treatment involved disabling the Relic’s mRNA interference and simply blocking its signals to the brain.
# Hypothesis: A Firewall Mechanism
I propose that V's treatment involved the installation of a "firewall" in the brain. This firewall would allow personal link signals to pass through for basic life support functions, while blocking advanced communication protocols for combat use and the Relic's signals.
# Why Disable Combat Abilities?
It’s plausible that Myers deliberately tampered with the firewall to tame V. Myers emphasizes using people trapped in their past, such as Reed and Alex, who remain loyal soldiers despite betrayal. Similarly, V is fixated on becoming a legend, especially after Jackie’s death. For instance, in the Sun ending, V promises Johnny to keep fighting and storms the casino in pursuit of further glory.
Myers likely sees V’s mercenary past as leverage to mold them into a super-soldier like Reed, a figure effectively "dead to the world" but serving the FIA. To that end, Reed may have been tasked with recruiting V into the FIA, with the promise of restoring combat implant functionality as an incentive.
# The Fate of Panam and ZetaTech
However, V’s connection to friends like Viktor and Panam complicates Myers' plans. Judy, who leaves Night City, can be excluded from consideration here.
In the Tower ending, ZetaTech appears to have grown rapidly under unknown leadership. Viktor mentions rejecting numerous corporate offers but ultimately accepts ZetaTech's, resulting in a transfer to San Francisco, far from Night City. Given ZetaTech's Silicon Valley base and its ties to the FIA, it's likely Viktor's transfer was orchestrated by Myers.
As for Panam, she becomes unreachable in the Tower ending, and neither she nor Saul appears in the end credits. While this could suggest estrangement, even Takemura, who harbors strong resentment against V, appears in other endings' credits. This absence might imply that Panam and Saul were killed, the Aldecaldos disbanded, and Mitch chose to hide this from V.
The attackers could have been mercenaries hired by a fixer. Mr. Blue Eyes desires Militech's client data, which he seeks to acquire through V in the Sun ending. With V comatose in the Tower ending, Myers may have offered Militech's information to Mr. Blue Eyes as a bargaining chip to orchestrate the attack on the Aldecaldos. News reports in the Tower ending confirm that Mr. Blue Eyes succeeded in obtaining Militech's client data.
# Conclusion
I propose that V’s inability to use chrome in the Tower ending is not absolute but rather the result of deliberate suppression by Myers. In the future, I hope V escapes Myers’ control, teams up with Takemura, breaks through the firewall, and exacts revenge on Adam Smasher and Yorinobu, ultimately rescuing Songbird.
I’m currently preparing to launch a global SaaS service and working on building the payment system. However, I’ve run into a challenge.
Since my company is based in South Korea, and Stripe does not support businesses registered in Korea, I’m working on setting up PayPal instead. But I recently learned that I need to apply VAT based on the customer’s country. Unfortunately, PayPal doesn’t handle this directly.
At this MVP stage, I’m trying to avoid spending too much money. What do you think about using PayPal combined with an open-source solution for calculating VAT by country? Or, if you know of any better services for this, I’d love your recommendations.
good morning to all of you redditors! hope you all make it through this fantastic day, and this brings some sort of joy to your morning! if it is your cake day, then happy cake day!
NB: this isn't really ancap discussion, but this is the only political sub I'm on.
It's not in the federal register yet but here's the Whitehouse link
https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/protecting-the-meaning-and-value-of-american-citizenship/
Basically this does nothing except direct federal agencies not to issue citizenship documentation. Somebody born on US soil continues to be a citizen per the 14th amendment, they could just have a hassle getting a passport or other documentation.
So my thoughts is that this just further undermines and degrades the American system. It's the duty of the executive branch to faithfully executive the laws passed by Congress, with respect to the rulings of the courts that interpret them. The law may not explicitly say that the executive shall issue certain documents, but since they do, it's within the spirit of the law to do so according to the law and issue them to all citizens, not just those born under certain circumstances.
It's been happening at the state level for a while too, not just federal. The branches of government are starting to ignore each other and the one with the guns and money - the executive - is getting more and more bold in assuming absolute authority. It very much undermines the purpose of having separate branches of government. I hate to ever say we need more government, but there's nobody with power to keep the executive in check, the legislature and judicial have no teeth. I guess that's supposed to be the people.
Hi all,
I consider booking a flight from Europe (Schengen) to NYC. This will have a transfer in Chicago, ORD.
This transfer is 16 hours on the flight there, and 8 hours on the flight back. I have family in Chicago, so I want to leave the airport during both the 16 and 8 hour transfer.
I have one checked bag already paid for when booking. I wonder, can I take this with leaving the airport? Since normally it gets transferred automatically to the next airplane (same airline).
I believe entering the US as a non resident, from Europe, it will always have to be rechecked anyhow. Can I then pick it up, leave, and the day after (16h layover), enter ORD again without paying for that checked bag?
And on the return flight from NYC to ORD (8h layover), can I again pick it up and leave the airport and re-enter like 6-7 hours later?
I am not an experienced traveler, any insights here would be appreciated!!

Just ordered a pair on Kickwho but got an email saying it’s out of stock in my size. I’m assuming the stock went to the US warehouse so I missed out 😭 (AU based). From experience and given it’s a popular colourway, how frequently would they restock? Cheers!
